Website Design Terms & Conditions

 

1. Introduction

These Terms & Conditions apply to all website design services provided by AJM Website Design. By accepting a quotation, paying a deposit or engaging my services, you agree to these terms.

 

2. Payment Terms

 
One Page Website
  • A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your project and booking in my diary.

  • The remaining 50% is due once the website has been completed and approved, prior to transferring ownership of the website to your Wix account.

  • Any optional add-ons are charged separately and are not included within the deposit calculation.

 
Five Page Website

A staged payment plan is available:

  • 20% non-refundable deposit to secure your booking.

  • 30% payment is due before any design work begins. At this stage, your sitemap, website content and project requirements should have been supplied and agreed.

  • Final 50% payment is due once the website is complete and approved, before the website is transferred to your Wix account and goes live.

  • Any optional add-ons are charged separately and are not included within the deposit calculation.

 

All invoices are payable by the due date stated on the invoice.

 

Failure to make payments on time may result in delays to your project.

 

3. Wix Hosting

Website design fees cover the design and build of your website only.

A Wix Premium Plan and any applicable domain costs are separate and payable directly to Wix.

Premium plans currently start from approximately £9 per month plus VAT, depending on the plan selected. Wix reserves the right to change its pricing at any time.

I am happy to assist with selecting and setting up the most suitable Wix Premium Plan for your business.

 

4. Website Platform

Websites are designed using Wix Editor.

Wix Editor allows me to create separate desktop and mobile layouts to ensure your website looks professional across both device types. Websites created in Wix Editor are mobile-friendly but are not fully responsive in the same way as websites built using Wix Studio.

As I continue my training on the Wix Studio platform, all standard website design packages will be created using Wix Editor unless otherwise agreed.

 

5. Content Requirements

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, clients are responsible for providing all website content, including:

  • Website copy

  • Images and photographs

  • Logos and branding assets

  • Downloadable documents

  • Business information

  • Any other media required for the website

 

Content should be supplied in its final form before design work begins.

If copywriting, image sourcing or additional content creation is required, this may be quoted as an additional service.

 

6. Design Process & Revisions

Once the homepage design has been created, you will receive an initial homepage preview to review the overall style and direction of the website.

The project includes up to three rounds of revisions to the homepage design before the remaining pages are created.

This revision allowance also applies to one-page websites.

Once the homepage design has been approved, I will begin designing the remainder of the website in the agreed style.

Additional revision rounds or changes outside of the agreed project brief may incur additional charges.

 

7. Project Timescales

Following payment of your non-refundable deposit, your project will be booked into my diary.

Typical turnaround times are:

  • One Page Website: approximately 4–6 weeks

  • Five Page Website: approximately 6–8 weeks

 

Timescales are approximate and depend on my current workload, the timely receipt of content and prompt client feedback.

A project start date will be agreed once the deposit has been received.

To help keep your project on schedule, all requested content should ideally be supplied within 1–2 weeks of the agreed project start date.

Delays in supplying content or approvals may result in your project being rescheduled and the completion date extended.

 

8. Client Delays

If a project is delayed due to missing content, lack of communication or delayed approvals, I reserve the right to pause the project.

Projects that remain inactive for more than 30 days may be rescheduled according to my availability.

Projects that remain inactive for 90 days may be considered cancelled. Payments already made will remain non-refundable and a new quotation may be required before work resumes.

 

9. Project Cancellation

The initial deposit is non-refundable as it covers consultation, planning, administration and reserved project time.

If you choose to cancel your project after work has commenced, payment will be required for any work completed up to that point.

AJM Website Design reserves the right to terminate a project where communication becomes abusive, unreasonable or these Terms & Conditions are breached.

 

10. Website Approval & Launch

Before your website goes live, you will have the opportunity to review the completed website.

It is your responsibility to check all content, including spelling, pricing, contact information, images and functionality before approving the website for launch.

Approval confirms acceptance of the completed work.

Once your website has launched and your Wix Premium Plan has been activated, AJM Website Design will remain as a Co-Owner of the website in order to complete the final launch tasks, including connecting your domain and completing the Wix SEO Setup Checklist.

If, at any point after launch, you would prefer AJM Website Design to remove Co-Owner access, this can be arranged upon request.

 

11. Website Ownership

Ownership of the completed website will be transferred to your Wix account once full payment has been received.

Until payment has been made in full, all design work remains the property of AJM Website Design.

 

12. Training

Both the One Page Website and Five Page Website packages include one complimentary 30-minute Zoom training session.

During this session, you will be shown how to use the Wix Editor to make basic updates to your website, including editing text, replacing images and updating information such as prices or services.

This training session must be arranged by the client and booked into my diary at a mutually convenient time.

 

13. Post-Launch Support

Your website package includes two weeks of post-launch support from the date your website goes live.

This support covers minor amendments, such as correcting text, replacing supplied images or making small content updates.

Requests for additional design work, new pages, functionality changes or work outside the original project scope will be quoted separately.

Following the two-week support period, any further updates will be chargeable unless an ongoing maintenance arrangement has been agreed.

 

14. Copyright & Client Materials

You confirm that you own, or have permission to use, all text, images, logos, videos and other materials supplied for your website.

AJM Website Design accepts no responsibility for copyright infringement relating to client-supplied content.

 

15. Third-Party Services

Your website may rely on third-party services including, but not limited to:

  • Wix

  • Domain registrars

  • Google services

  • Third-party applications

  • Payment providers

 

AJM Website Design cannot be held responsible for downtime, pricing changes, service interruptions or technical issues relating to third-party providers.

 

16. Portfolio Rights

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, AJM Website Design retains the right to feature completed websites within its portfolio, website, social media channels and other marketing materials.

 

17. Limitation of Liability

Whilst every effort is made to deliver a fully functioning website, AJM Website Design cannot be held liable for any loss of revenue, profits, business interruption or consequential loss arising from the use of the website or any third-party services.

 

18. Acceptance

Payment of your deposit confirms that you have read, understood and accepted these Terms & Conditions.
